Ochobcn Restaurant, a charming Argentinean gastrobar in Barcelona
I don't know why, whenever I go to Barcelona I end up eating in the Sant Antoni neighbourhood, an area between El Poble Sec and El Raval where there are plenty of restaurants with that modern and casual touch that has become so fashionable lately. One of them is this ochobcn, a charming Argentinean gastrobar .
It happens to me that, although I love Argentine restaurants and their meat, they don't always end up fitting my budget and, also, I prefer to eat tapas and try a little of each. That's why I liked the approach of this small place, since they offer interesting meats in small portions, as well as tapas with a mix of Spanish, Catalan and Argentine cuisine, all at a fairly reasonable price.
We started the appetizers with a tapa of bonbons de patata con mojo picón , which were roasted potatoes stuffed with a bit of this delicious sauce. We also ordered a tapa of homemade gnocchi with pesto sauce , which was amazing.
To continue, two empanadas , something that you cannot stop asking for in an Argentine. On the one hand, a more classic one with minced meat, which was very, very good; on the other, one of mozzarella and onion confit, a combination that surprised us and liked it in equal parts.
His specialty, without a doubt, is meat. They offer different cuts, both of beef and pork: entrails from Galicia, steak from Girona, black angus entrails from Nebraska, top loin from Argentina and extra Iberian secret from Guijuelo.
We tried the first three and the three were spectacular , with special mention of the black angus entrails, with a very good texture and flavor, although the truth is that any of the three made your taste buds smile.
Finally, for dessert, we chose a dulce de leche pancake that put the perfect finishing touch to a dinner at the occhobcn restaurant, a charming gastrobar in Barcelona. My recommendation is that you try it , since the quality of the ingredients justifies the prices, but it is also that everything is very good and you can try many different things.
